I’m toying between the terms “Brevity is Poignant” and “Brevity yields Poignance”. So what brings out the philosopher?
I write this after watching a video, it brought tears to my eyes.
And then I found out it was AI generated.
First thoughts:
- Damn
- Holy Crap
- AI is going to take over the world.
Then:
- Why did that song affect me so much?
- All lines are short with a lot of meaning.
- The shorter the sentence the larger the meaning.
The beauty of poetry, like art, generates a different feelings, in different people. The Center Pompidou – revisiting the self, Paris, France
We all bring our world view to what we do, what we see, what we listen to, what we like.
Think about the last sentence, what do each of the three or four word snippets bring up for you. If you’re like me, a lot.
The video was for the song “After I’m gone” by Michael Bennet and exists with different names, different length. Its masterful, and has very short sentences. The song…and the singer…are an AI creation.
What is poignance?
“the quality of evoking a keenly felt sense of emotion, especially of bittersweet sadness or regret.”
– Oxford Disctionary or is it Google AI? Do look it up.
Poignant is such a Poignant word. Loaded with Emotion.
“After i’m gone” – three words, what does it bring up for you? The song is full of three, four word snippets.
Is there Poignance inherently in brevity, or does brevity beget poignance?
…
The words here are entirely my own, its quite hilarious that AI triggered them.
