An app for the Mac that I wrote sometime last year (2020) has been building up an audience of happy users; users who are beginning to talk about it and telling their friends to download it. I have a growing fanbase in China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan, not just English speaking countries.
What is it?
To put it simply, it is a mac app that let you use your Mac keyboard and mouse/trackpad as a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for any other device. An iPhone, the iPad, Apple TV, Samsung TVs, Vizio TVs, Sony TVs, Other Mac’s, Linux computers, Rasberry Pi’s, anything that can use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

One keyboard to rule them all!
How is it doing in the market?
As of January 2022; KeyPad has about 30,000 downloads.
The app is free for one device, but to connect more, or use the mouse requires an in-app purchase. Generally 6% of users have been buying the app. Thats over 2,000 purchases.
It has a 4.7 star rating worldwide. There are some stellar reviews on the Mac App store.
The review I am especially proud of was in “This week in tech”
In the words of Andy Ihnatko of MacBreak Weekly “A really great app that I didn’t know I was looking for.” Watch the 4 minute review.
Why am I talking about it now?
My mantra is “Tell everybody what you are going to do. But do it first!”
It has been over 20 years since I wrote a mainstream application and put it out there. I have been leading product development teams during those 20 years. I had been talking to a friend about this for years. I guess he got fed-up and said, “You have been talking about this for so long; why don’t you go ahead and do it!”
Competition
There really isn’t much competition for this app, but the Big guns have arrived. Apple announced “Universal Control” at last years WWDC (not shipped yet) and it promises to do more or less exactly what my app has been doing for a year and a half.
Help me get the word out…
