Saw the link that one of the developers of COBOL had died. Some nostalgia there…this was the first programming course I ever did (1986) and my grades in it were good enough that the programming school I went to gave me a free course to do advanced COBOL and DBase III+.
Never did any COBOL programming in real life. But it was a stepping stone to where I am today. RIP Jean Sammet.
